Designed by Roeland Otten this set of 26 chairs each spelling out one letter of the alphabet are just cool. Named the ABCChairs they can be arranged so you can relax on your favorite word, or send a message to the person sitting across the room.

With summer heating up we thought who better to feature than our very own hot tamale designers Jason Contreras.  Let’s see what Jason has to say about a few of his favorite things!

1. What is your most treasured possession?
My OG 80’s Ray-Ban Aviators my dad gave me. His face got too fat, and one day when my face is too fat my off spring will get them.

2. Who is your favorite fictional hero?
Batman. I like his car, and his girl.

3. What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I get great pleasure out of counting and stacking change.

4. What song best describes you?
How To Disappear Completely by Radiohead.

5. What is your favorite TV show of all time?
The Simpsons

6. What’s your favorite most embarrassing CD/Album?
Christina Aguilera, Dirty.

7. Who would win in a fight a Taco, a Burrito or a Hot Dog? Why?
Burrito. If you fight one bean you have to fight the whole burrito. Power in numbers. ­

8. Where and when would you travel to in a Time Machine?
I would travel centuries into the future. Hopefully by then we have not destroyed ourselves and have worked out interstellar travel. I really want to check out a black hole.

9. Who is your favorite artist?
At the moment Wassily Kandinsky.

10. What is the best advice you have ever received?
Don’t complain. There is always someone in the world that has it way worse then you do. Be thankful. Now shut up and eat your string beans.

Recently we received a generous “thank you” basket from one of our favorite clients. It was a huge basket of cookies topped with an enormous red balloon (we’re talking about 3 feet in diameter).  Our eating squad tore through the cookies right quick, leaving the massive balloon dangling over our kitchen.  For two days the balloon drifted aimlessly around the studio, occasionally coming to rest behind someone’s desk.  We would joke, “Balloon is watching you.”   It seemed like the balloon was taking on a life of its own.  What if it were hungry for revenge after being tossed aside in favor of cookies?  With that in mind and about 30 minutes of shooting, we put together a short video for your viewing pleasure.

Bergdorf Goodman is where to go to see cool window displays in New York City. Each window is a scene from “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” featuring the actual characters and sets used in the making of the movie. Unfortunately the day I found this was the day I decided to walk around with out my good camera, so all I got are iPhone shots. Hope you enjoy. The real talent comes threw when the fancy sound effects and studio tricks are taken away.

During my years in art school I developed a love and appreciation for photography. Taking many photography classes as electives I learned how to use the manual settings on the camera and how to develop and print black and white film. All with an old Pentax, equipped with one 35mm lens. I absolutely loved this camera and would drag it along with me everywhere. Some of my fondest memories from school were wondering around the greater Los Angeles area, searching for interesting sights to capture. But very quickly graduation came, then work and I soon found myself getting out to shoot less and less. Eventually the camera ended up in the darker regions of my closet, and I began to settle for digital point and shoot cameras.

This recently began to change. Recognizing the value and savings in shooting digital I set off to get a digital SLR of my own. For months I was searching for just the right camera. Bugging coworkers for links to good deals, searching on my own and continually changing my mind on what I wanted to buy. Then about 2 months ago Paula Tade here at Tuesday happened to mention that she was thinking of selling her Canon 5D. At that moment I thought this might be a great opportunity to get my hands on a very good camera. So we talked, made the deal, and a few days later I had it. My very own Canon 5D, with a lens, extra battery grip and a bag! I was set.

So began the summer of the 5D. It may not be new, but it is new to me and it goes above and beyond any camera I have ever owned. As a result I have been getting back into my old habit of wandering around this interesting and odd city doing my best to capture its sights where I find them. Here is what I have captured so far. Scientist Oliver Sacks on Musical Cognition

I recently came across this documentary on PBS as I was channel surfing. For anyone who is a music lover this documentary is for you. It is extremely interesting and covers many aspects of music and the science behind it. It is really a must see. I am buying the DVD and I encourage anyone who is interested to purchase their copy on the shop PBS page so that you can not only enjoy this great documentary but also support public broadcasting.
