I’m currently flying over Kentucky (or thereabouts) at 33,000+ feet on Virgin America flight 99 from DC to LA. Yes, I am writing this blog post from the sky. Not writing it and then publishing when I land. I’m literally writing and publishing from the sky. Virgin America has become the first and only airline to offer offer Gogo® In-flight Internet service.

June 25 proved to be a very sad day as we said goodbye to 2 great icons of pop culture.

Farrah Fawcett, who had been struggling with cancer for many years, passed away early June 25, 2009.  Michael Jackson died of a cardiac arrest later the same day.

Since about ten years Theo Jansen is occupied with the making of a new nature. Not pollen or seeds but plastic yellow tubes are used as the basic material of this new nature. He makes skeletons which are able to walk on the wind. Eventually he wants to put these animals out in herds on the beaches, so they will live their own lives.

Scientist Oliver Sacks on Musical Cognition

I recently came across this documentary on PBS as I was channel surfing. For anyone who is a music lover this documentary is for you. It is extremely interesting and covers many aspects of music and the science behind it. It is really a must see. I am buying the DVD and I encourage anyone who is interested to purchase their copy on the shop PBS page so that you can not only enjoy this great documentary but also support public broadcasting.
